First new chassis arrive for new South Atlantic pool

An order of 200 new chassis arrived this week in Savannah that will power a new equipment pool covering three seaports and multiple inland rail hubs across the US Southeast, the first step in a transition that seeks to increase the reliability of the equipment moving ocean containers in the region. 

The South Atlantic Chassis Pool 3.0 (SACP 3.0) will have 50,000 units covering ports in Jacksonville, Savannah, and Wilmington, NC, as well as inland rail hubs in Alabama, Georgia, and North and South Carolina by the time it officially launches in October.
