Chassis Refurbishment Time-lapse Transformation

  • March 27, 2024

To showcase how to breathe new life into aging chassis, we’ve created a dynamic time lapse video, which details the complete refurbishment process conducted by CCM partner Charleston Blast & Paint in Charleston, SC.

The process begins with the removal of all old parts and components, including wheel assemblies, tires and brakes, any needed metal repair and then continues with sandblasting, rust and debris removal and the application of ‘CCM Red’ paint. This is followed by the installation of all new components, including anti-lock brakes, radial tires, air and electrical systems, CCM mud flaps and the application of all required decals and more. The film ends with the sun’s reflection off the completely refurbished shiny red SACP 3.0 chassis.

SACP 3.0, an interoperable, single utility provider chassis pool offers a fleet of 45,000 chassis for the intermodal community in the region, including truckers, beneficial cargo owners, ocean carriers and other port users.
